Former Chamber of Commerce president David Xuereb has been appointed chairman of the Occupational Health and Safety Authority, the government said.

An architect by profession, Xuereb has worked for years in sustainable design and green industry.

He was chamber chairman until last March.

He replaces Manuel Mallia who is being appointed High Commissioner to the UK.
