MEP candidate and EU expert Peter Agius is expected to lead PN efforts to reach out to a wider electorate.
He is expected to be appointed as the PN's Chief Spokesperson in charge of coordinating the PN message to effectively reach out to sectors of interest and new voters.
PN sources indicate that Agius was approached to take a leading role within the Party by leader Bernard Grech to give additional impetus to the party's communication efforts.
Agius would be in charge of making optimal use of the new ways of communication and update the use of traditional methods. Insiders see Agius as the ideal person to bolster the Party's efforts to reach those on the fringes of politics and others who could respond to Bernard Grech's invitation to use the PN to bring about change in the country.
He is a relatively new comer to the local political scene, making his entry as a front liner in the last MEP elections, garnering over 10,000 first count votes.
Agius was previously the Head of the European Parliament Office in Malta and held other high profile offices, including having been a right hand man to EP President Antonio Tajani.
