53 new Covid-19 cases registered, 50 people recover

53 new cases of Covid-19 were registered on Sunday, while 50 patients recovered, the health authorities said in their daily update.

The number of active cases in the country has risen to 667. No new deaths were reported.

In total, since the start of the pandemic, there have been 35,774 cases of Covid-19 reported on the Maltese islands, 34,275 of which recovered.  436 people have died.

791,240 vaccine doses have been administered thus far, 410,856 of which were first doses. 409,136 people are fully vaccinated.

In total, 1,162,291 swab tests have been carried out.

A total of 41 Covid positive patients are currently being treated at Mater Dei Hospital, three of whom are in the ITU.
