Waterpolo: Neptunes crowned champions after beating San Giljan

Neptunes were crowned champions yesterday after defeating outgoing champions San Giljan in the final decisive match of the season. Neptunes scored two early goals in the first session, but Matthew Zammit pulled one back for San Giljan. In the second session San Giljan scored two goals to make it 3-3, but Neptunes quickly re-established their two goal cushion with goals from Jordan Camilleri and Akec Fenech.

San Giljan did not throw in the towel even winning the third session 2-1 for a tight 7-6 score by the end of the third quarter.

San Giljan went all out for the equaliser in the fourth and final session but Steve Camilleri scored a decisive goal for Neptunes to make it 8-6. San Giljan never recovered and Jake Muscat and Max Farrugia scoring two more goals to seal the title for Neptunes.
