Woman grievously injured in Mgarr accident

A woman was grievously injured on Saturday afternoon in a traffic accident in Mgarr, the police said.

The accident took place in Sir Temi Zammit Street at 6.30pm.

The woman, aged 30 of Msida, lost control of the Volkswagen Polo she was driving, and crashed into boat carrier and a Renault which were parked on the side, before careening into the façade of a residence.

With the impact, the boat carrier, which was attached to a Suzuki Santana, ended up in a drive-in of a garage while the Renault finished in the middle of the street.

The driver was taken to hospital with grievous injuries.
