A skyscraper in Milan was destroyed in a fire on Sunday, with 20 residents suffering from smoke inhalation.

Fire in the 15-storey building started on the top floor but quickly engulfed the rest of the edifice.

Firefighters managed to rescue the residents and checks are being held to see if anyone was trapped inside the building.
