A truck which was carrying a bulldozer found itself in a stick situation on Wednesday morning after it got stuck under the Marsa-Hamrun bypass bridge.

The accident happened at around 8.15am when the bulldozer which was inside the truck’s cargo holder got stuck on the bridge while the truck was driving underneath.

The bridge sustained some damage and it took the best part of 45 minutes to extract the truck and the bulldozer from its predicament.

A winding traffic jam in the area ensued because part of the roundabout had to be closed.

At around 9.00am the truck was finally removed from under the bridge and the road was re-opened.

No one was injured.
