42 new Covid-19 cases reported

42 new cases of Covid-19 were reported by health authorities on Friday, with the number of cases coming down compared to the previous two days.

55 people meanwhile have recovered, taking the number of active cases down to 691.

A total of 37 Covid positive patients are currently being treated at Mater Dei Hospital, with two of those in ITU.

3,439 swab tests were administered on Thursday, taking the total up to 1,201,506 so far.

Meanwhile, 798,068 doses of the vaccine have been administered up until Thursday, with 414,557 of those being a first dose.

413,292 people are now fully vaccinated.

Malta has had 36,364 cases of the virus. 34,836 of those have recovered, while 441 have died.
