There are around 250 families around Rabat who are living in uncertainty as, while they had built their homes legally, do not fully own the land as it is still subject to lease agreements with the government, a PN statement read.

The PN said that there are such situations across Malta, and that schemes had been issued in the past, but did not cover all cases. A PN government led by Bernard Grech would assure that these families become the owners of their land and their homes, a statement read, "giving them peace of mind."
