Artist reveals Joseph Muscat’s Castille portrait

Friday, 10 September 2021, 13:05 Last update: about 4 years ago

Artist Patrick Dalli has posted an image of the official portrait of former Prime Minister Joseph Muscat at the Auberge de Castille.

It is customary for the Prime Minister to have his portrait hung in Castille, but an image of it was never released by the Department of Information. When a portrait had been installed of Lawrence Gonzi, a press release and image had been issued.

Journalists caught a glimpse of it while at Castille during a meeting that Prime Minister Robert Abela held with his Libyan counterpart Abdulhamid Dbiebah.

Muscat had resigned in disgrace at the end of 2019, following public pressure and protests due to links between his office and Yorgen Fenech, the suspected mastermind behind the murder of Daphne Caruana Galizia.
