Two cyclists were grievously injured on Saturday in a collision with a car in Mgarr, while a third escaped unhurt, the police said.
The accident took place at 8am in Dwejra Hill.
The three cyclists were involved in a collision with a Citroen C1, driven by an Albanian man aged 32.
The cyclists, a Maltese man aged 44 of Qrendi, and two Italians aged 33 and 40, were all given fist assistance by a medical team before being taken to hospital.
The 33-year-old did not need further treatment while the other two suffered grievous injuries.
