Socialist MEPs will meet in Malta between 27 and 30 September in what is the first external meeting for the S&D group since the pandemic.

The Labour Party said that it would be hosting the MEPs in Malta and that Prime Minister Robert Abela would be holding meetings with a number of members of the group.

The PL said that the meeting is another sign of faith which the S&D group has in Abela and in the government’s track record for reforms in favour of stronger governance.

The officials will also be visiting a number of projects which the government has embarked on in order to improve social justice in Malta, ranging from housing projects and environmentally sustainable projects.

The PL said that this will be an opportunity for the sharing of ideas of how the socialist family can continue to advance its agenda for a more just, progressive, and social Europe.
