Former Nationalist Party leader Adrian Delia will contest the seventh district, apart from his hometown on the eighth.

The decision was taken unanimously by the party executive, Delia announced on his Facebook page.

This brings to an end speculation about which district Delia was to contest apart from the one including his hometown, Birkirkara.

There was talk of him taking on one of the districts in the south of Malta, which are traditionally linked to Labour, but where he enjoys the support of the grassroots.

The 7^th electoral district is made up of Żebbuġ, Dingli, Mġarr, Mtarfa, Rabat, Baħrija, and Tal-Virtù.

It is the first time that Delia will be contesting an election. He had been co-opted to Parliament in 2017 after he became party leader.
