The area around the recently built Marsa junction was afflicted by flooding after a brief but heavy rain shower hit Malta on Monday.

Various parts of Malta were affected by an isolated rain shower in the early afternoon on Monday, with Marsa amongst the most significant areas hit.

Independent electoral candidate Arnold Cassola was among those to share images of flooding which affected certain areas as a result of the rainfall.

The area close to the Ottoman cemetery particularly was affected by the flooding.
