A motorcyclist was seriously injured in a traffic accident in Gozo early on Tuesday morning, the police said.

The accident took place in Rabat Road, Zebbug, Gozo at 2am.

The biker, a 38-year-old man of Zebbug, lost control of the bike and crashed into an electricity pole.

He was taken to Gozo hospital with serious injuries.

Magistrate Simone Grech is leading an inquiry.
