27 new Covid-19 cases report as four now in intensive care

27 new cases of Covid-19 were reported by health authorities on Monday – bringing some respite from a spike which characterised the last week of the pandemic.

15 people were reported as having recovered from the virus, meaning that the number of active cases has increased anyway – this time to 381.

11 patients are currently receiving treatment at Mater Dei Hospital, with four of those being in intensive care – up by one since Sunday.

Up till Sunday, 888,880 doses of the vaccine had been administered by health authorities. 59,041 of those were booster shots.

Malta has had 37,935 cases of the virus so far. 36,681 of those have recovered, while 462 have died.
