55 new Covid-19 cases reported as active cases go over 600

55 new cases of Covid-19 were reported by health authorities on Monday, as active cases continued to increase.

17 people have, meanwhile, recovered from the virus. 

The number of active cases stands at 603.  It’s the first time since 18 September that the number of active cases has exceeded the 600 mark.

13 patients are currently being treated at Mater Dei Hospital, two of whom are in intensive care.

908,687 doses of the vaccine have been administered by health authorities up till now, with 76,771 of those being booster doses.

Malta has had 38,259 cases of the virus so far. 36,783 of those have recovered while 462 have died.
