64 new Covid-19 cases reported as spike persists

64 new cases of Covid-19 were reported by health authorities on Tuesday as the current spike in cases has continued to persist.

31 people meanwhile have recovered, taking the number of active cases up to 636.

16 patients – three more than Monday – are now receiving treatment at Mater Dei Hospital, with two of those in intensive care.

911,620 doses of the vaccine were administered as of Monday, with 79,203 of those being booster doses.

Malta has had 38,323 cases of Covid-19. 36,814 of those have recovered, while 462 have died.
