Seven persons have been arrested by the police in three drug raids in 24 hours, the police said in a statement.
Heroin and cocaine ready to be trafficked were seized in the three operations.
After days of observation, two men and two women aged between 17 and 24 were arrested from a residence and farmhouse in Triq is-Serkin and Triq it-Tigrija, Marsa, on Tuesday evening.
At the farmhouse, the police found sachets containing heroin and cocaine, together with a substantial amount of cash. The police also confiscated CCTV cameras and monitors, three cars – a BMW, a Jaguar and a Mercedes – and gold items.
Animal Welfare Department were also brought in to take care of a race horse and a pitbull which were found on site.
At the residence, the police also found heroin and cocaine ready to be trafficked. Some 120 sachets with the drugs were seized.
A second police operation took place on Wednesday, when three men aged between 20 and 30 were arrested.
Police officers followed the men to Mdina Road, Qormi, where a search was carried out in the car they were using. The police here discovered cocaine ready to be trafficked, together with a substantial amount of cash.
Further searches were carried out at the residences of the three men, and in a car showroom.
Magisterial inquiries were launched.
