Two men have been hospitalised after being involved in a car accident in Żebbuġ on Friday afternoon.

The accident which was a collision between a car and a truck happened on Mdina Road at around 12.30 p.m., with the car enduring the most extensive damages.

Civil Protection personnel and a medical team were called to the scene to assist one of the drivers as he was trapped in the crashed car. Two ambulances took the men to Mater Dei Hospital for treatment. Their condition is not yet known.

Police closed two lanes in the direction leading to Rabat, after which traffic piled up.

Police investigations are in progress.
