Dutch woman at MIA arrested after being found in possession of drugs

The police today arrested a 44-year-old Dutch woman after she was found to be in possession of cocaine.

The woman who was arrested as soon as she landed at MIA from Brussels, was found to be in possession of more than two kilograms of drugs, worth 260,000.

Police said that the woman was arrested after the Police Drug Squad had information that a passenger aboard a flight coming from Brussels was in possession of drugs. The police searched the woman upon her arrival, and they found the suspected drug in several different packets.

The woman was escorted to the lockup of the Police Head Quarter located in Floriana where she will be questioned.

A magisterial inquiry is being led by Magistrate Charmaine Galea.
