A woman was grievously injured in a traffic accident yesterday.

The accident took place at 5.30pm on Triq Birzebbugia, Birzebbugia and involved a Toyota Vitz driven by a 61-year-old woman from Hamrun, who had a 3-year-old boy in the car, and another Toyota Vitz driven by a 61-year-old man from Birzebbugia.

All were taken to Mater Dei Hospital. The 3-year-old boy did not suffer any injuries. The woman suffered grievous injuries and the man suffered minor ones. Investigations are ongoing.
