A worker was grievously inured after he fell from a height of three-storeys in Mriehel, the police said.

The accident occurred on Triq in-Negozju Mriehel.

The victim, 31, from Cospicua, was given first aid on site by emergency doctors and members of the Civil Protection Department. He was later taken to Mater Dei Hospital by ambulance.

In a statement, the Occupational Health & Safety Authority (OHSA) said that the person fell while doing membrane work.

The OHSA has started its investigations into the cause of the accident.

"As the investigation is still ongoing, the OHSA is not in a position to make other comments at this time."

The police are also investigating.
