138 new Covid-19 cases reported, as 11 remain in hospital

138 new cases of Covid-19 were reported by health authorities on Thursday as the high number of virus cases persist.

It’s the highest number of daily cases found since 27 July, when 142 cases were reported.

61 people have also recovered, taking the number of active cases up to 1,290.

11 patients are currently being treated at Mater Dei Hospital, with two of those in intensive care.

962,678 doses of the vaccine had been administered up until Wednesday, with 124,074 of those being booster jabs.

Malta has had 39,581 cases of the virus. 37,504 of those have recovered, while 468 have died.
