88 new cases were reported by health authorities on Friday, as an elderly man became the 470th victim of the pandemic in Malta.
Authorities said that the 470th victim is a 73-year-old man.
59 people have meanwhile recovered from the virus, meaning that the number of active cases has risen to 1,364.
23 patients are currently being treated at Mater Dei Hospital, with three of those in intensive care.
984,895 doses of the vaccine have been administered, with 146,861 of those being booster doses.
Malta has had 40,265 cases of the virus so far. 38,112 of those have recovered, while 470 have died.
