'Karamellu tar-Raħal t'Isfel - l-Ewwel Ktieb' is a collection of 10 stories, interspersed with visuals specially designed by CN Creative Designs. In general, the stories offer an idea of how children and families used to live many years ago, along with their customs, in a calm and serene environment where everyone knew everyone else and where some exciting experiences among children and adults were never missing.

Present for the occasion, on November 29, 2021, was the author, Mr. Charles Buttigieg, who explained to the children present that the stories in the book were inspired by certain experiences he had as a boy, adding that the stories offer an idea of how children used to live in the past.

The author said that the time of his childhood taught him how wonderful it is to be happy with what you have, even if it is limited, while at the same time continue to study and strive for a better life while also helping others.

In his address, the Mayor of Vittoriosa, Mr. John Boxall, spoke about the importance of reading and how the council is always ready to invest in education, because it is fully conscious that if it invests in today's generation, it will be also securing a good future for the locality.

Lorna Schembri, Head of Vittoriosa Primary School, while thanking the mayor for the donation, spoke on how the stories in the book will help today's children understand how in the past, although they had no luxuries, were always happy.
