Our impression is that Robert Abela’s favourite way of keeping fit is to run on the treadmill.  Running on the spot, sweating and believing that the image on his monitor is where he really is.  Somewhere out at sea perhaps or on a beach in Bali. 

With regular habit now, each time he faces yet another incident where instant dismissal or a resignation is expected of one of his parliamentary group he simply keeps on running on the treadmill, falling onto the same old recycled rhetoric of “Prime Minister Robert Abela will wait for the final verdict by Parliament’s Standards Committee before considering any steps against Education Minister Justyne Caruana. The PM will not consider temporary measures as the report by the Standards Commissioner is ‘not conclusive’ he said.”

“Not conclusive.”  Anyone who read the report by Dr George Hyzler will know that it was plenty conclusive and actually couldn’t be any more conclusive unless it is understood to be reporting on the mating habits of rabbits.

As usual, Abela resorts to running on the spot until his side-kick Anglu Farrugia comes in to change the speed.  Besides that, he is also now running out of fingers in which to plug the leaks of the all the treachery and above-the-law exemptions that he has to cover. 

At least 3 fingers are stretched really deep into Konrad Mizzi’s issues.  Two into Rosianne Cutajar’s and now he has to reach for the right hand to plug Justyne.  All whilst Joseph Muscat digs his 10 fingers into various spots on Abela himself.

Early on after the Standard Commissioner’s report on Justyne Caruana’s contract to her close associate was released, rumour was being staged on social media quoting LP sources as saying that Caruana would be gone by last Tuesday.  Tuesday came and went and was replaced by Robert Abela’s tired and worn out jargon.  And Caruana is immovable.  Just like Rosianne Cutajar and just like Konrad Mizzi’s personal take on which committees he should attend, on which votes he should be present for in Parliament and whether he should answer to the NAO or the Ombudsman on the countless scams he was involved in. 

Behind the scenes the same figure emerges.  Like an omnipotent Lord Krishna, ultimate God of Wealth in Hinduism, his place is sacred and nobody would dare to question his supreme power.

Each time Abela must consult with Lord Krishna to see who he can touch and how far he can go, which is nowhere at all.

So he reverts to the same rhetoric and bides his time until the next diversion can distract the people enough to make them forget.  Following the Cutajar-Farrugia episode, we got the cannabis law.  Already on social media the next hot topic is being launched.  This time it is euthanasia. 

The conflict amongst permits to hold all sorts of public activities in Valletta and to keep clubs and venues open, versus allowing a small church procession to take place to honour the tradition of the Baby Jesus being carried through the parish, is meant to confuse and to manipulate the opinions of people. 

In a little while, they no longer trust their own mind.  According to the polls they have trust in Robert Abela but culturally and spiritually they also trust the Church.  Who should they follow in this predicament?  This conflict conditions the minds of people to simply become apathetic and not take sides or choose the PM.  Something which cripples a nation.

This is then put to good use to create an image of confidence by Robert Abela.  In reality, it is the complete opposite.  It is the ultimate failure of a leader to take responsibility for the good of the country and the people and take the decision to do what is right.

Treadmill Bob.  Running on the spot. 

We have seen it before and will not allow it to happen yet again.  The scam of pretending to be the most modern, the most just and the defender of the weak.  The most hypocritical government ever, claiming to have measures in place that work to protect the rule of law and then manipulating the system so that they are subverted in favour of the regime, over and over again.

Which may all be common practice for your lifetime Labour voter and the one put there by Muscat to keep the offerings going and please the Gods.  But what about Caruana herself?  Does she really see herself as continuing in her job of Minister for Education when under criminal investigation?  What is happening behind the scenes in Gozo?  Surely they are fed up of being tainted by the same brush?  When will previous Ministers from Gozo speak out?  Will there be a small rebellion and pressure to clean the stable?

Gozo is turning on a six-pence when it comes to which way it will vote.  Abela knows he cannot abandon the ship and let them get to harbour by going behind Comino.  On the other hand, it would seem, Caruana or the Krishna behind her is captain of this ship.  The PM’s weakness is her strength. 

But these kinds of affairs are quite regular in the land of Isola verde, that sub-dominion established by Muscat, Schembri and Mizzi, aided and abetted by Nexia BT and contracted to Robert Abela.  We are not talking about Malta and Gozo here.  Those are in the hands of an opposition that tries to keep a good profile and ethical standards for it, against all odds, assisted by the EU.  This Isola Verde is ruled by the would-be Lord Krishna and holds no values or truths other than being above the law and a bastion of Free Masonry.

Abela may be deluded into thinking that he is someone of importance in this alternative place.  Time will come when he will see his impotence, as he is overtaken by the narcissistic need for new supply from everyone around him.

The only thing we can do, is to not get used to it.  To protest the sham, the hypocrisy, the ruin of our standards and damage that has been brought upon our loved nation.  Over and over again if need be.  The importance of knowing the strength of our convictions and becoming wise to the nature of justice.
