A biker was seriously hurt after he lost control of the bike he was riding and crashed into a barroer on Saturday evening, the police said.

The motorcyclist, a 22-year-old Albanian man who resides in Valletta, crashed in Triq ix-Xatt, Pieta, at 10.30pm.

He was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

Magistrate Rachel Montebello is leading an inquiry.
