Gasan Foundation partners with Zibel on educational waste campaign

The Gasan Foundation recently collaborated with NGO Zibel to launch a social media awareness and educational campaign aimed at highlighting ways and best practices on how to minimise the environmental impact in our daily lives.

"Among the many threats to our environment is the belief and assumption that somebody else is going to fix the problem. Environmental NGOs like Zibel are working to change this attitude and to raise awareness that it is our individual and collective duty to take responsibility of what is happening now and to take ownership of the problems happening on the planet," a statement read.

Tuesday Tips is a long running series of educational social media posts created and conceived by Zibel on several useful tips while also shedding light on key environmental issues. Examples range from tips on how to reduce plastic at home, shopping at the supermarket sustainably, recycling tips, ways to make a home eco-friendlier, and much more. Such simple changes do mitigate environmental problems as the average size of an individual's carbon footprint in the EU is equivalent to around eight tonnes of CO₂.

"The Foundation is all about embodying a commitment to positively impact our communities and making direct positive contributions." With this kind of partnership, the Foundation also hopes to bring NGOs like Zibel closer to philanthropists and businesses. "These tips will remind and encourage the public about ways to make small changes which will gradually make a difference, and encourage individuals to adapt to a better lifestyle for the present and future generations," the statement read.

"This collaboration with such an energetic environmental NGO is exactly the kind of initiative the Foundation seeks to support" said Joe Gasan, the Foundation's chairperson.  "Their dedication to tackling waste and educating the public creates a natural fit between our organizations, and the environmental ethos that we strive to create and support both within our organization and our communities."
