If you’re planning to go to Gozo in the next few months, you will likely experience delays arriving at Cirkewwa as road works at Ghadira begin on Monday.

Infrastructure Malta said on its Facebook page that it is working with the Water Services Corporation to law new underground pipelines and rebuild the northbound carriage way of Marfa Road, from Ghadira Bay towards Cirkewwa.

The work will start on Monday and “for the next few months, the road will be open with one lane in each direction only”, through the southbound carriageway.

“Plan ahead as delays are expected,” IM said.

As from Monday, work on the rebuilding of Dun Nerik Cordina Perez Street in Hamrun will mean that this link towards Qormi will be closed “for several weeks”.

Drivers are urged to follow diversion through Hal Qormi Road nearby, which will be temporarily open in both directions.

IM also announced that on Monday, “we are starting the final phase of the rebuilding of Durumblat Road, in Mosta. Part of this road, from corner with Il-Kuncizzjoni Road to corner with Il-Mithna Street, will be closed until further notice
