A man has been found dead in the sea at Bugibba, the police said.

The dead body was noticed by a fisherman in the area, who notified the police at around 8.45am.

The assistance of the Armed Forces of Malta was sought for the body to be lifted onto the ground.

The police is still to identify the person.
