A biker who suffered serious injuries in a crash on the Coast Road last Sunday urged fellow motorcyclists to wear protective gear at all times.

It’s a miracle, Christopher Briffa wrote on his Facebook page.

The man was riding a bike along the Coast Road on Sunday, lost control, and crashed, his bike ending up in pieces. He was helped by drivers who were in the vicinity and was taken to hospital.

He was discharged on Monday, after being treated to what he described as “friction burns and bruises”.

Briffa said he was not wearing protection gear when the accident took place, other than the helmet and entry-level scooter gloves.

He describes it as a “stupid decision”, as what he endured could have been avoided if he had been wearing the right protection, he said.

“Wear top to bottom protective gear always”, he wrote, urging people to contact him for assistance if necessary.
