Woman dies while Covid-19 positive as 249 cases are found

A woman has become the latest victim of Covid-19 in Malta, while 249 new cases of the virus were reported by health authorities on Tuesday.

The woman was 57 years old, authorities said.

266 people have recovered from the virus, meaning that the number of active cases has dropped slightly to 2,954.

102 patients meanwhile are currently receiving treatment at Mater Dei Hospital, with five of those being in intensive care.

1,213,371 doses of the vaccine have been administered thus far, with 331,055 of those being booster doses.

Malta has had 67,904 cases of the virus. 64,013 of those have recovered, while 551 have died.
