Cassola asks Hyzler to investigate Minister’s girlfriend job

Independent candidate Arnold Cassola has asked the Standards Commissioner to investigate a report in which it said that a minister’s girlfriend is employed in another ministry but is not reporting for work.

Cassola was referring to a report on LovinMalta which claims that the girlfriend of Minister Clayton Bartolo, Amanda Muscat, used to work at the Tourism Ministry as the minister’s secretary. She was then transferred to the Gozo Ministry but is not turning up for work.

Cassola said that the report indicates that Minister Bartolo “has favoured his girlfriend… perhaps with the complicity of the Gozo Minister.”

Cassola asked Hyzler to investigate whether there was nepotism or favouritism shown by Bartolo in the employment of his girlfriend, and whether Camilleri is allowing employees not to turn up at the office.

Cassola also requested the commissioner to see whether ethics have been breached.
