Two grievously injured in separate traffic accidents

Two men were grievously injured in separate traffic accidents in the early hours of Wednesday morning, police said.

In the first case, a Filipino, who is 47 years old and lives in Tarxien, suffered grievous injuries after being hit by a car.

Police said that he was hit by a Hyundai i10 driven by a 46-year-old from Pembroke in Triq Santu Wistin in St. Julian’s at around midnight on Wednesday.

The man was subsequently taken to hospital where he was certified as suffering from grievous injuries.

In the second case, a 27-year-old Italian man who lives in Munxar lost control of his Kymco Agility scooter.

The accident happened at around 2:15am in Triq l-Imghallem in Rabat, Gozo.

The man was taken to Gozo General Hospital by ambulance where he was certified as suffering from grievous injuries.

Police investigations into both accidents are on going.
