Three more Covid-19 patients die as 240 cases are reported

Three more Covid-19 patients have died, while 240 new cases of the virus have been reported by health authorities.

Authorities said that two men – aged 63 and 93 respectively – and an 87-year-old woman had died while positive for the virus, taking Malta’s pandemic death toll up to 559.

318 people meanwhile have recovered from the virus, meaning that Malta currently has 2,742 active cases of the virus.

92 Covid-19 patients are currently being treated at Mater Dei Hospital, with five of those being in intensive care.

1,216,897 doses of the vaccine have been administered thus far, with 332,467 of those being booster doses.

Malta has had 68,371 cases of the virus so far. 64,654 of those have recovered, while 559 have died.
