An elderly man has died while positive for Covid-19, while 214 cases of the virus were reported by health authorities on Friday.
The man who died was 78 years old, authorities said, and he is the 560th victim of the pandemic in Malta.
280 people meanwhile have recovered, meaning that the number of active cases has dropped to 2,675.
98 patients meanwhile are currently being treated at Mater Dei Hospital, with five of those in intensive care.
1,218,503 doses of the vaccine have been administered thus far, with 333,053 of those being booster doses.
Malta has had 68,585 cases of Covid-19 so far. 64,934 of those have recovered, while 560 have died.
