For the fourth conscutive time the national waterpolo team qualified to the final phase of the european championships which this year will be held in August in Split.

After the impressive victory against Ireland in the opening match, Karl izzo’s boys continued were they left off on Friday, this time demolishing Lithuanis 19-5, and thus making the final match against the more fancied Romania a mere formality since Malta obtained the qualification.

The only interest in the match was in the initial two sessions which the Maltese won 5-2, and 4-3. In the second part of the game there was no stopping the malta boys who obtained a partial 10-0 in the remaining sessions for a convincing 19-5 victory.

Jake Muscat and Matthew Zammit were Malta’s best scorers with five goals each, followed by Plumpton, Abela and Dino Zammit, with Galea, Gambin and Nikolai Zammit netting the other goals.
