MALTA………….. 4
Romania …… 18
(1-5), (0-2), (2-3), (1-8)
Malta ended its commitments in the European qualifiers with a heavy 18-4 defeat against Romania.
It was a reality check for Karl Izzo's boys who could do little against the power of the Romanians, who ended up winning the qualifying group.
Malta finished in second place, enough for it to qualify to the finals of the European championships in Split in August.
Malta's goals were scored by Jeremy Abela, Dino Zammit and Liam Galea (2).
