Lying, copying, and taking people’s money are the PL’s three tools– Grech

The Labour party is making use of three tools during its electoral campaign, 'lying, copying and taking taxpayer's money,' PN Leader Bernard Grech said on Thursday addressing a party rally in Qormi.

He said that Prime Minister Robert Abela's campaign involves lying about the PN and its true intentions, giving a spin to their every word. Grech described the PL as a 'photocopier,' as they have yet to come out with their electoral programme while copying the PN's. Abela's last tool is the taxpayer's money which is 'being used blindly,' whilst he is trying to convince the public that the PL is the best choice to govern, Grech said.

"The only roadmap the PL is following, is the road map of how to pocket more money," Grech remarked, adding that while there are members in the Labour party who do have positive elements, all members of the PN are working in the interest of the people.

Grech said that already a third of the electoral campaign has passed and Labour has still not come out with their electoral manifesto.

He continued to accuse Labour for not creating a single economic sector in its years of government, whilst the Nationalist party is pledging to create 10 new economic sectors. These 10 economic sectors will serve as support and increase opportunities in Malta for youths, he said.

"The 10 economic sectors will increase the number of jobs, provide better pay and more opportunities, which in turn increases the government's income, and means that we will have more to use for social benefits, subsidies and investment," Grech said.

Grech reiterated that the country will still feel the effects of the FATF's greylisting even after it is removed and Malta's reputation is regained. "This is why we need to remove Malta from the list as soon as possible," Grech insisted.
