Prime Minister Robert Abela pledged to tackle the issue of lengthy bureaucratic processes which hinder investment.
In a meeting with the Malta Developers Association (MDA), Abela stressed on the importance that labour government would give to this issue if elected stating that “we will be addressing bureaucracy in order to create better incentives for businesses to in turn create a better economy for everyone.”
Focusing on bureaucratic bank processes, Abela pledged to handle the issue himself. “Even though the banking sector does not fall under the direct responsibility of the government, we have the obligation to assure that certain processes do not prohibit any investment which could be made.”
MDA president Michael Stivala thanked Abela for listening to the concerns of the industry. “The changed enacted over the previous months were vital in keeping Malta on track to recover from the pandemic with a positive outlook.”
