This publication follows Kingmaker's previous book, the highly acclaimed Genesis 1967 to 1975 - The Peter Gabriel Years. This brand-new book is the definitive biography of the band, following the departure of Peter Gabriel. It contains numerous exclusive interviews with band members and important personalities who formed part of the Genesis story from 1975 onwards. Italian music journalist, Mario Giammetti, covers the full band story very extensively, from the album titled A Trick Of The Tail, issued in 1976, up to the Turn It On Again Reunion Tour in 2007. The author presents a detailed critical review of all nine studio albums, each one placed within the correspondent historical and artistic era. There is also the second part of each chapter, containing exhaustively researched information about the subsequent world tours that followed each album release.

This is a high-quality publication, focusing on the music and superbly illustrated throughout with rare unpublished photographs and exclusive memorabilia. The Phil Collins Years contains a wealth of detail about the chemistry and interaction between the band members, the producers, technicians and other artists, many of which may well be unknown even to the most ardent fan. The book also includes a short foreword written by Mike Rutherford, the band guitarist, who pays tribute to Giammetti for his amazing support of all things Genesis and for the way he's kept such detailed records of all events.

Contrary to the book title, Giammetti also covers the short period with Ray Wilson as lead singer, from 1996 right through the accompanying European tour in 1998.  The author gives a detailed account of the events surrounding the release of Wilson's sole Genesis studio album, Calling All Stations.

In the Genesis community, few hold the reputation of Giammetti. He contributes to numerous leading music magazines and is the founder of Dusk (www.dusk.it), the only printed magazine in the world dedicated to the band.
