An elderly man was seriously injured on Tuesday after he fell inside a residence.

The accident took place in Triq Bormla, Paola, at around 8am, the police said.

The man, 73, from Fgura, was walking inside the residence and fell.

He was assisted by a medical team and personnel from the Civil Protection Department. He was later taken to Mater Dei Hospital by ambulance.

Magistrate Doreen Clarke is leading an inquiry. Police investigations are also ongoing.
