They were stopped by Customs Department officers when they arrived on a flight from Madrid on Tuesday.

The two were not cooperating with the officers, who sought the assistance of the police. A Customs Department dog was indicating that the women were carrying illicit substances.

The police carried out a search and found the cocaine, which has a street value of €400,000.

Magistrate Doreen Clarke is leading an inquiry.

The two women are set to be arraigned in the coming days.
