Opposition Leader Bernard Grech promised that a new Nationalist Party government will be working tirelessly to make Malta “attractive” again for youths through quality jobs and quality of life.

Referencing a statistic which states that 70% of youths in Malta want to leave the country, Grech stated that “this is the reason why I entered politics, to enact the change needed and help talented youths in Malta find quality jobs in Malta.”

“The PL track record only states that the status quo must be kept and the PN track record seeks for the country to be ambitious as much as possible.”

Shifting focus on the poverty situation in Malta, Grech said that the PL political movement has brought us in this position. “A PN government will seriously tackle the living wage and not use it as a buzz word. We want to act proactively and not send out checks every so often.”

Referencing the ten new economic sectors proposal, Grech said that this is one way of tackling the poverty situation, by providing quality wages through quality jobs. “A PN administration has always invested in various sectors and the government is now bearing the fruit of our hard work.”

With regard to the PL proposal on the mandatory unionisation, Grech said that “while the PL seeks to restrain people, the PN pledges to strengthen the role of unions in order to make them more enticing for people to join.”

Touching upon the trackless tram proposal, “a new way forward of utilising environmental infrastructure together with the investment made by the governments in our roads is needed,” Grech said.

Finishing off with a statement on the ESG compliance for companies, Grech stated that unlike what was said by PL propaganda media, “our proposal would not be adding any financial costs to companies as we will be incentivising this step and helping them throughout the process.”

During his interview, Grech praised PN MP Mario Galea for speaking out in favour of mental health awareness regardless of the event.
