A Gozitan teenager was seriously injured after a biking incident in Ghajnsielem on Thursday evening, the police said Friday.

The accident happened as the 15-year-old boy from Nadur was biking in the countryside at around 7pm.

The boy lost control of the bike and fell.

He was taken to Gozo Hospital by some relatives, but because of the serious injuries he sustained, he was transferred by helicopter to Mater Dei Hospital.

Magistrate Bridgette Sultana is leading an inquiry.
