Two men were grievously injured in separate accidents that took place on Monday afternoon, the police said.

In the first case, a 39-year-old man from Siggiewi was hospitalised after he was involved in a traffic accident in Mdina Road, Zebbug. The man was driving a Keeway motorcycle that was involved in a collision with a Seat Ibiza driven by a 69-year-old woman from Attard. The accident took place at around 4pm.

In the second case, a 50-year-old man from Safi was injured while working with mechanical plough in a field in the limits of Karwija, Safi. He was assisted by a medical team and was later taken to Mater Dei Hospital. The accident took place at around 5:30pm.

Police investigations into both accidents are underway.
