A 48-year-old man was the latest victim of Malta’s roads, as he was hit by a car in a traffic accident on Monday morning.

Police said in a statement that the man, who is Albanian and who lives in Nadur, Gozo, was hit by a Volvo S40 which was being driven by an 82-year-old man from Santa Venera.

The accident happened on Triq Dun Karm, in Msida at around 9:30am.

The victim was given medical assistance and then taken to Mater Dei Hospital where he was certified as suffering from grievous injuries.

Police investigations into the case are on going.
