A woman was critically injured in Saturday morning when she fell one storey on a construction site, the police said.

The accident took place at 10am in Ta’ Xaghman Street, Sannat.

The woman, aged 68, resident of Xewkija, fell one storey down a flight of stairs.

She was taken to Gozo General Hospital with serious injuries.

Magistrate Bridgette Sultana is leading an inquiry.
