An accident involving six vehicles occurred on the Coast Road,  Naxxar at 11 am on Sunday, the police said.

The accident involved a Nissan Note driven by a 42-year-old Sliema resident, a Peugeot 208 driven by a 56-year-old German, a Chevrolet Matiz driven by a 40-year-old Sliema resident, a Fiat Stilo driven by a 43-year-old St Paul's Bay resident, a BMW 320D driven by a 23-year-old St Paul's Bay resident that also had a 22-year-old Mgarr resident onboard, and a Toyota Vitz being driven by a 26-year-old Fgura resident that had a 25-year-old also from Fgura and a baby who is a few months old onboard.

Six people were taken to Mater Dei Hospital for care.

Of these six, the 22-year-old BMW passenger and the 40=year-old Chevrolet driver suffered grievous injuries, while the other four suffered light injuries.

Investigations are ongoing.
